Dalai Lama visits Australia

by Tracey on April 26, 2011

In Australia we are once again blessed that His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama will be touring Australia in 2011 from June 9th – 20th.
I have once again volunteered to support HH The Dalai Lama’s Melbourne visit and very much look forward to being touched by his love, joy and compassion.

I meditate daily, I have seen HH The Dalai Lama speak several times (1) Australia Zoo, Sunshine Coast (when I was living in Cotton Tree, Qld) & (2) Lisbon, Australia when I was on tour of The Knights Templar sacred sights in 2007. I wrote my 1st book “How To Overcome Stress Naturally” in my daily Meditation I asked, who is aligned with my message of Meditation & Mindfulness (tips I have in my book) that I could ask to write the foreword for me.

In the stillness of Meditation the only name that came into my awareness was “Ask HH The Dalai Lama”. I always trust my Intuition so I asked myself “What do I need to do?” and wrote down the steps to take. Within a very short period of time, I got a reply from HH The Dalai Lama who said “yes” for the foreword to my book.

June Long Weekend Melbourne Teachings

Saturday 11th – Monday 13th June, at the Melbourne Convention Centre, His Holiness the Dalai Lama will explore six perfections that provide the basis for a way of life – generosity, ethics, patience, enthusiasm, concentration and wisdom.

The teachings are based on the text by Shantideva ‘A Guide to the Bodhisattva Way of Life’.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama considers these teachings a seminal influence in his life and work and repeatedly stresses the benefits of its study but one does not have to be a Buddhist to benefit from the teachings.

His Holiness says ” You and I may hold different beliefs – about the universe, about reality, about religion. And even within a belief, within a faith tradition, for instance, there are all sorts of differences between people. But such differences in belief, just like differences in experience, are minor compared to our common humanity.”

This is a rare opportunity globally for His Holiness to be offering these Teachings over 2½  days.

One of my favourite quotes from HH THe Dalai Lama is:

“Be Kind Whenever possible, It’s always possible!” HH The Dalai Lama
